When President Biden proclaimed October 2021 as National Youth Justice Action Month, he noted that far too many young people have been "sidelined by unnecessary encounters with the justice system." Citing the adverse effects of system involvement, the President called for a national shift from incarceration to prevention.

OJJDP Tribal Youth Resource Center to Host Virtual Tribal Youth Conference
The OJJDP Tribal Youth Resource Center will host the 2021 OJJDP Tribal Youth Virtual National Conference from March 29 to April 2, 2021. The conference theme is “Shaping Brighter Futures with American Indian, Alaska Native Youth, and Tribal Communities—Strengthening Resilience, Promoting Healing, Restoring Culture.”
