Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP)

Administrator

The Administrator is appointed by the President and shall develop objectives, priorities, and a long-term plan to improve the juvenile justice system in the United States, taking into account scientific knowledge regarding adolescent development and behavior and regarding the effects of delinquency prevention programs and juvenile justice interventions on adolescents.

OJJDP Welcomes New Administrator

On May 4, 2022, Office of Justice Programs Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Amy L. Solomon announced that President Biden has appointed Liz Ryan as Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
