Department of Justice Releases Online Journal on Missing and Murdered American Indians and Alaska Natives
The Department of Justice has published the first of two issues of the "Department of Justice Journal of Federal Law and Practice" addressing missing or murdered American Indian and Alaska Native people. This issue focuses on law enforcement and prevention surrounding missing or murdered American Indians and Alaska Natives.
This project provides training and technical assistance (TTA) support to enhance the AMBER Alert Network; and serves to increase and improve the law enforcement response to missing, endangered, and abducted children. Goals include efforts to increase the recovery rate of abducted children, strengthen child alert systems in the nation’s northern and southern borders and tribal communities to protect children, increase community understanding of issues related to child abuse and exploitation; and implementation of the Ashlynne Mike AMBER Alert in Indian Country Act of 2018.
