Abstract
A law that stemmed from the abduction and murder of 11-year-old Ashlynne Mike of the Navajo Nation is intended to bring increased law enforcement coordination, new and expanded resources, and renewed hope for the protection of children living on tribal lands. “Faces of the AMBER Alert Network: Michigan” profiles Sarah Krebs, an AMBER Alert coordinator in that state since 2014. She began as a Michigan State Police Trooper in 2000 and has become the one person responsible for the AMBER Alert in Michigan. She discusses initiatives taken in AMBER Alert and her motivation and difficulties in her work. “Colorado AMBER Alert Helps Find Boy Wandering Naked and Hungry in Utah” reports on the role that AMBER Alert played in rescuing this child, who was kidnapped for sexual abuse. News clips related to AMBER Alert activities and cases are reported for New York, congressional action to fund AMBER Alert networks in all U.S. territories, an update of the U.S. Emergency Alert System; Virginia State Police uses of the Ashanti Alert to find missing adults; AMBER Alert events in Florida, Mississippi, Illinois, and Alabama; and AMBER Alert and child identification events trending across the United States in 2018. News on AMBER Alert International focuses on events in the Bahamas, Canada, Australia, Luxembourg, and France
