YOUth Are Worth It! Episode 2: Youth Are Worth Keeping Safe

In celebration of Youth Justice Action Month (YJAM), the National Youth Justice Network and the Coalition for Juvenile Justice launched the "YOUth Are Worth It! YJAM 2024 Video Series."

This YJAM video series builds off of the work of the youth justice movement to re-envision what it means to create youth justice. In this episode, youth justice advocates discuss a transformational vision of community safety that moves away from youth punishment toward building resourceful and abundant communities for young people. Such resourceful models would include accessible mental health care, transformative schools, restorative justice programs, mentoring with credible messengers, safe and affordable housing, jobs and vocational opportunities, recreation, youth development and more.

The theme of this year's YJAM campaign, "YOUth Are Worth It" encompasses a shift toward investing in the full scope of community resources that young people need to thrive.
