This program supports the provision of juvenile justice-related training and technical assistance to federally recognized Tribes to build capacity to develop, expand, improve, and/or maintain their juvenile justice systems, as well as funding to support and enhance Tribal youth engagement related to juvenile justice, delinquency prevention, and public safety issues in Indian country.

Funding for this program is to prevent and reduce youth violence, including youth gang violence. Applicants must target their proposed prevention, intervention, or suppression strategies to work with those youth who are most likely to be involved in violent activities in the immediate future.

The objective is to provide treatment and accountability to parents with substance use disorders by offering access to treatment and recovery services that will ultimately protect children; reunite families, when safe to do so; and expedite permanency.

This solicitation will primarily focus on the prevention of exposure to violence and early intervention to support children and families who are impacted.

The fiscal year (FY) 2021 Children's Advocacy Centers National Subgrants Program, which will provide funding under three categories of assistance to children's advocacy centers (CACs). The three categories of assistance are (1) National Subgrants Program, (2) National Subgrants Program for Victims of Child Pornography, and (3) National Military Partnership Program.

This program provides resources to state, local, and Tribal governments to create and enhance juvenile drug treatment court programs for youth in the justice system with substance abuse problems, specifically related to opioid abuse.

This program provides grants to state, local, and Native American Tribal governments, and nonprofit organizations, to provide reentry services and programs to youth.

This program supports the implementation and delivery of mentoring services to youth who are currently abusing or addicted to drugs, youth at risk for abusing drugs, and youth with family members who are currently abusing or addicted to drugs.

The goal of this program is to improve the judicial system’s handling of child abuse, neglect, and related cases, with specific emphasis on the role of the courts in addressing reasonable efforts that can safely avoid unnecessary and unnecessarily prolonged foster care placement.

The goal of this program is to implement enhancements that improve juvenile indigent defense.

The goal of this program is to assist states and localities in developing or expanding services that meet the needs of incarcerated parents and their minor children to prevent violent crime, reduce recidivism, and provide support for minor children.

The goal of this program is to reduce risk factors and promote protective factors for girls who come in contact with the juvenile justice system, and place them on a path toward success, stability, and long-term contribution to society.

The goals of this program are to improve outcomes for children in the foster care system and to provide effective advocacy for abused and neglected children.

This solicitation provides funding to develop intervention and supervision services for adolescent sex offenders and children with sexual behavior problems, and to provide treatment services for their victims and families/caregivers.

This solicitation provides funding for applicant organizations to enhance and expand mentoring services for children and youth.

This program supports the implementation and delivery of mentoring services to youth populations that are at risk for juvenile delinquency and juvenile justice system involvement.

This program will support the development, improvement, and/or implementation of emergency planning activities for state, Tribal, county, and local juvenile justice residential facilities.

This solicitation provides funding to support a national membership and accreditation organization to provide training and technical assistance on the development and implementation of national standards for children’s advocacy centers (CACs).

This program supports prevention and early intervention strategies for girls who are involved in the juvenile justice system.   

Applications submitted by nongovernment organizations should consider the importance of an established partnership (via a memorandum of understanding or analogous document) with public juvenile justice agencies at the local or state level. This will ensure close collaboration around referrals for those girls involved in the juvenile justice system and eligible for services provided by the proposed project.

OJJDP expects applicants for funding under this solicitation to develop program activities based on the core strategies of the Comprehensive Gang Model as outlined in this solicitation.

The goal of this program is to prevent/reduce victimization of girls who are vulnerable to sex trafficking.

The Juvenile Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (JJMHCP) supports proposals to develop and implement a cross-system collaborative approach to improve responses and outcomes for youth with mental illness (MI) and co-occurring MI and substance abuse (CMISA) who come into contact with the juvenile justice system.

The Second Chance Act Youth Offender Reentry Program encourages collaboration between state agencies, local government, and community- and faith-based organizations to address the challenges that reentry and recidivism reduction pose for moderate to high-risk juvenile offenders returning to their communities from juvenile residential or correctional facilities.

Funding under this program can be used to develop support services for children exposed to violence in their homes, schools, and communities; and to develop, enhance, and implement violent crime reduction strategies that focus on violent juvenile offenders. This program development and resource allocation decision by interested applicants should be based on currently available resources to the jurisdiction and gaps in services.

The Juvenile Justice System Enhancements program will support efforts to enhance systems that address public safety by holding offenders accountable and supporting child victims. This includes the juvenile justice system as well as those agencies responsible for investigating and prosecuting online child exploitation.
