OJJDP's Continuum of Care Initiative Awards $17.1 Million in FY 2023

OJJDP's continuum of care framework focuses on prevention and early intervention services for most youth, with intensive, targeted, evidence‐based programming for youth at high risk of juvenile justice system involvement.

Moving Toward a More Equitable Youth Justice System

“I believe we are moving toward a more equitable youth justice system. I am encouraged and inspired by movements across the field toward a system that is more responsive to youth needs and more inclusive of youth and family perspectives. I’ve spent the last 20-plus years advocating to reform the juvenile justice system, and I am proud of the progress we have made. I am also realistic about what remains to be done, and committed to ensuring that OJJDP plays a pivotal role in continuing to reform and improve our youth justice system.”

From the Field: Strategic Partnerships Elevate a City and Its Youth

Project Imagine asks youth to “imagine” a life beyond crime, then provides mentorship, consistency, and accountability to help them achieve it. The city of Danville, VA, launched the program for youth affiliated with gangs or at risk for gang involvement.
