This literature review defines key terms, discusses risk factors for status offending, summarizes how states and the federal government address status offending, and presents data and information on juvenile court processing and the characteristics of youth in the juvenile justice system for status offenses. The review also describes the characteristics and outcomes of programs addressing status offending.
