Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $425,000)

Greene County proposes to expand the capacity of service delivery to its pilot juvenile drug court program by applying the Reclaiming Futures program model. Best practices in substance abuse treatment will also be integrated into the juvenile drug court program. This integrated system will improve and expand treatment services, implement a system of care to coordinate all social services, and increase community opportunities for youth and families.
Specific program goals are to 1) expand Green County's pilot project to launch a full-scale juvenile drug court for nonviolent substance-abusing youth offenders, 2) formalize and expand Green County's responses to juveniles who screen positive for AOD, and 3) develop a re-entry support program for youth completing juvenile drug court services and youth discharged from secure detention. Green County will collect and report data in support of performance measures identified by OJJDP and fully participate with the OJJDP national evaluator in collecting and reporting process, impact and baseline data.
