Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2002, $194,000)
The Housing and Community Development Corporation of Hawaii (HCDCH) is the State of Hawaii's public housing and housing finance agency. HCDCH is working in collaboration with Parents and Children Together(PACT), to address the need for expanded youth services at Kuhio Park Terrace (KPT). HCDCH is working with PACT to provide expanded services through their Community Teen Program. The purpose of the project is to improve school performance and increase school success for the youth in KPT. The Community Teen Program (CPT) has been a vital part of the Kuhio Park Terrace Community for the past 13 years. The continuum of services that has been developed by the CTP ranges from simply providing a safe place for youth with supervised activities to more organized, skill-building activities to case management and support activities to parent involvement activities.
