Reducing Risk for Girls in the Juvenile Justice System
The goal of OJJDP's Reducing Risk for Girls in the Juvenile Justice Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) is to reduce risk factors and promote protective factors for girls who come in contact with the juvenile justice system and place them on a path toward success, stability, and long-term contribution to society. To achieve this goal, Justice and Joy National Collaborative (formerly known as National Crittenton) coordinates the work of the OJJDP "Girls" TTA team, which includes Justice and Joy staff, The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) as sub-recipient, and a core team of subject matter experts including young people with lived experience.
The project intends to expand the skills of program providers and other stakeholders working with the target population of girls in the juvenile justice system and to assist providers with improving the juvenile justice system responses for girls in contact with the system.
