Mentoring

This demonstration program will support collaborations of qualified, established mentoring program to implement advocacy or teaching functions into mentors’ roles by enhancing (1) the matching of youth and mentors based on needs, skills, experiences, and interests; (2) initial and ongoing training for mentors, and (3) ongoing mentor support.

This program will support salary and related expenses for a coordinator who will develop or enhance a collaborative of existing mentoring services provided by multiple organizations for youth in a localized geographical area who are identified as being at risk or high risk of entering the juvenile justice system.

This solicitation seeks to fund research studies that will inform the design and delivery of mentoring programs. OJJDP expects that the results of this effort will encourage a more effective utilization of resources as well as enhance the implementation of evidence-based best practices for juvenile mentoring.

This program supports the implementation and delivery of one-to-one, group, and peer mentoring services to at-risk, high-risk, or underserved youth populations through national mentoring organizations and their chapters or subawardees. This program also supports one or more enhancements of services to both improve the access to and impact of mentoring services.
