OJJDP supports programs and training and technical assistance as part of the larger CVI initiative. Fiscal year 2021 OJJDP funding includes–
Nearly $15 million under the Comprehensive Youth Violence Prevention and Reduction Program to address youth violence, including gang violence. The program encourages close collaboration among community-based organizations, service providers, and law enforcement to reduce violence.
Approximately $7 million for the Strategies To Support Children Exposed to Violence program to provide services for children exposed to violence and to implement community violence intervention strategies. Funding also supports training and technical assistance to program sites.
Nearly $1 million to continue operating the National Gang Center. The Center provides leadership, information and training and technical assistance on comprehensive, community-based anti-gang initiatives, including gang prevention, intervention, enforcement, and reentry.
