OJJDP Recognizes National Youth Violence Prevention Week

National Youth Violence Prevention Week

Join OJJDP in recognizing National Youth Violence Prevention Week April 25-29, 2022. This weeklong observance brings communities together to raise awareness about ways to prevent youth violence and make schools and neighborhoods safer.

OJJDP’s new Youth Violence Intervention webpage highlights the Office’s commitment to addressing gang and gun violence to create safer communities for youth and families.

On Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 2 p.m. ET, OJJDP’s National Gang Center is hosting a webinar on Interrupting the Cycle of Violence: Insights from the Urban Institute’s Research-Based Practice Guidance to Reduce Youth Gun and Gang/Group Violence. Researchers will present guidance for practice from their study on youth gang and gun violence reduction and practitioners will discuss how that guidance relates to their work in the community.

In addition, OJJDP recently posted its FY 2022 Enhancing School Capacity To Address Youth Violence solicitation for funding. Applications are due to Grants.gov by June 6 and JustGrants by June 20.
