OJJDP-funded Toolkit To Support Law Enforcement Responses to Children Exposed to Violence Released

Yesterday, the OJJDP-funded toolkit, developed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the Yale Child Study Center, was released in conjunction with Police Week. The "Enhancing Police Responses to Children Exposed to Violence" toolkit is designed to equip law enforcement professionals with trauma-informed, developmentally-appropriate tools to identify and minimize threats to child safety, foster closer engagement between law enforcement and youth, and maximize both officer safety and positive outcomes for children and families. The toolkit contains protocols, checklists, and other field-tested and research-informed resources.
