On March 18, 2019, in Washington, DC, First Lady Melania Trump met with Office of Justice Programs' Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Matt Dummermuth during a meeting of the Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs. The First Lady convened the working group to discuss federal programs related to the three pillars of her "Be Best" campaign, which focuses on the well-being of children, social media safety, and families affected by opioid abuse. OJJDP Administrator Caren Harp also attended the meeting. OJJDP provides grants to many programs that further "Be Best" objectives, including services and programs to protect children, help opioid-affected youth, and provide mentoring opportunities for at-risk youth.
