Secondary Trauma & Traumatic Stress: Cognitive Signs and Symptoms and How to Mitigate
This is the third in a series of six webinars, recorded on July 2, 2020 and hosted by The Innocent Justice Foundation and OJJDP's NTTAC, to address the cognitive signs and symptoms of secondary trauma and traumatic stress and how to mitigate them. In order to help law enforcement, prosecutors, and other investigative personnel identify, reduce, and address the traumatic impact of their work in combating child sexual exploitation, this webinar focuses on the effect secondary trauma and traumatic stress has on professionals and the different factors that can compound the response to trauma. The webinar series is designed to detail how and why stress and trauma manifest, what signs and symptoms we should be looking out for, as well as how to mitigate the effects by using everyday tools, techniques, and coping strategies.
