Abstract
"Learning From an AMBER Alert" describes the Northeast Ohio AMBER Alert's Family Response Plan which obtains advice and information from a victim's family after the work of law enforcement investigators and strategic public alerting has resulted in a child being brought safely home. Under this plan the family provides input on what they have learned from the events of the case and how procedures in such cases might be improved. "Faces of the AMBER Alert Network: New York" profiles the background and AMBER Alert responsibilities of Joshua H. Kean, who is the supervisor of the Special Victims Unit of the New York State Police and the New York State AMBER Alert Coordinator. "Faces of the AMBER Alert Network: Kansas" profiles the life and work of William "Bill" Smith, who has been the Kansas AMBER Alert Coordinator since 2013. He is the Special Agent in Charge at the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, managing field investigations for 36 counties in Northeast Kansas. "AMBER Alert in Indian Country" describes the Navajo Nation's successful issuing of its first missing endangered person advisory and the launching of its new website. "On the Front Lines: Houston" describes the successful resolution of an AMBER Alert case of a kidnapped child. "AMBER Alert International Issue 1 2015" provides news clips and information on child protection from around the world.
