With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to select organization(s) to carry out key activities designed to ensure abused and neglected children involved in dependency court proceedings have access to a court appointed special advocate (CASA):
- National training and technical assistance to state and local CASA programs or organizations.
- Subgrants to state and local CASA programs or organizations that support volunteer advocates who represent abused and neglected children in dependency court proceedings.
This solicitation includes two categories of funding:
1. Training and technical assistance for existing and new CASA programs.
2. Implementation and oversight of the subgrants program for state and local CASA programs.
Eligibility
- Public- and state-controlled institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
