Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $690,553)
The OJJDP FY 2020 Opioid Affected Youth Initiative (OAYI) will support the efforts of states, communities, tribal jurisdictions, nonprofit organizations, for-profit organizations and institutions of higher education to implement programs and strategies that identify, respond to, treat, and support children, youth, and families impacted by the opioid epidemic.
Road Recovery Foundation (RRF) will use funding to support youth to achieve personal and recovery-specific goals. RRF will use the Trax Program to provide at-risk youth and young adults who are in recovery with a path to fulfilling productive lives by helping to combat the negative impacts of opioid use disorder. RRFs approach provides youth and young adults (ages 13 to 17) direct access to the entertainment industry and opportunities that empower them to resist peer pressure engagement in at-risk activities, while gaining the respect of their peers.
