The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements. Supported activities and efforts may include planning and administration, establishing, operating, coordinating, and evaluating projects directly or through grants and contracts with public and private agencies for the development of more effective education, training, research, prevention, diversion, treatment, and rehabilitation programs in the area of juvenile delinquency and programs to improve the juvenile justice system as found in section 221 of the JJDP Act. The Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, Office of Grants and Research primary purpose of the FY 18 Title II Formula Grant Program is to ensure the Commonwealths compliance with the core requirements of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 2002 and to address other priorities of the Act. Funds from the Formula Grant Program are dedicated to compliance activities, State Advisory Group activities, and Formula-Grant related sub-awards. NCA/NCF
