The Drug Treatment Courts Program builds the capacity of states, state and local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized tribal governments to enhance pre-existing drug courts or implement new drug courts for individuals with substance abuse problems or co-occurring mental health disorders. Category 2: Family Drug Courts Enhancement will support jurisdictions with a fully operational (for at least 1 year) family drug court to enhance the operation of the court.

Butte-Silver Bow (BSB) County Family Drug Court (FDC) is a collaboration between Butte-Silver Bow County, the Montana Second Judicial District Court, Child Protective Services, defense council, county attorney, guardians ad litem, and treatment providers. Enhancement funds are requested to address three program objectives: (1) make the FDC available for all families with Child and Family Services Division involvement due to parental substance abuse and/or addiction; (2) develop and utilize a peer support group to be used pre- and post-graduation for current participants; and, (3) develop a collaborative team for Medication-Assisted Treatment participants (focusing on opioid addiction) and implement a program specific to BSB county.
