Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2016, $1,100,000)
The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force National Training Program is funded under the authority of the Providing Resources, Officers, and Technology to Eradicate Cyber Threats to Our Children Act of 2008, (P.L. 110-401, 42 USC 17601, et seq.)(The PROTECT Act). Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) will coordinate with OJJDP to deliver training to the ICAC task forces for the purpose of building entry level and core knowledge for ICAC investigators.
The goals of this project include: 1) Provide entry level and core training and technical assistance to support the activities of ICAC task forces; 2) Develop and maintain a cadre of experts who can conduct training on the national, state and local levels through both traditional and nontraditional teaching modalities; and, 3) Conduct evaluations and assessments of training outcomes. Project activities include the delivery of 22 lab-based core and entry level training programs; two classroom trainings for ICAC supervisors; and eLearning programs to support the task forces to include webinars, self-paced modules and instructional videos. Specific training courses offered will include: Investigative Techniques, Undercover Chat, Advanced Undercover Chat, Online Ads, and CyberTip Management. CA/NCF
