District of Columbia Title II Formula Grants Program
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act of 1974, as amended. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements through a range of administration, compliance and program activities including those that address juvenile justice issues for Native American Indian tribes.
The Office of Justice Grants Administration (JGA) is the District of Columbia's State Administering Agency for the Title II Formula Grant Program. In addition to the JGA's program focus on juvenile delinquency, school programs, compliance monitoring and disproportionate minority contact, FY 14 Title II funds will support JGA's efforts with aftercare/reentry and alternatives to detention. JGA, in partnership with stakeholders, will also develop and strengthen preventive services designed to reduce the number of youth entering the juvenile justice system. Funds will be used to support best practice efforts, and a portion of the funds will be used to evaluate and effectively measure the success of the sub-award organizations implementing delinquency prevention programs.
