Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2012, $167,214)
The Maine Department of Corrections continues to bear the primary financial burden for juvenile justice services in the State. As in previous years, Maine is requesting to receive a 100% waiver of the pass through requirements to units of local government. JABG 2012 funds will support six or more sites identifying purpose area (11) Diversion Program for police officers and juvenile community corrections officers. The project is a community-based diversion program using asset development, positive youth development and restorative practices. There is on-going program evaluation through OJJDP performance measures, Assets Getting to Outcomes, the University of New England and Service to Science technical assistance. NCA/NCF
