Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $425,000)
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) will develop training for forensic interviewers to help them assist child victims of commercial sexual exploitation. The key activities to be undertaken to achieve this goal/objective include:
1. Solicitation of information from subject-matter experts;
2. Collection of information, via a web-based, needs-assessment tool, from forensic interviewers and other appropriate professionals;
3. Development of a protocol, training course, accompanying training materials, and other key resources to help forensic interviewers, law enforcement, prosecutors, and other professionals better identify and assist child victims of commercial sexual exploitation including assistance in any resulting law-enforcement investigation and prosecution; and
4. Evaluation of the draft materials developed, and finalization of the training course and accompanying materials. NCA/NCF
