OJJDP's State and Community Development Awards program was established to provide grants and cooperative agreements to organizations that OJJDP has selected for funds in prior years. This program has been authorized by an Act appropriating funds for the Department of Justice.
The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.
The goal of the New Mexico (NM) Enforcement of Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) grant program is to develop a collaborative strategic plan involving juvenile justice partners, youth, families, law enforcement, community-based prevention partners, public school systems, and existing community and state boards which address implementation of research-based, best/most promising practices that facilitate partnerships with law enforcement, juvenile probation, education, healthcare, community leaders and youth to prevent and reduce underage drinking in participating urban, rural, frontier and tribal communities through the development of a continuum of services and strategies that are regionally and culturally appropriate for youth at risk of entering and youth who have entered the juvenile justice system for offenses involving underage drinking and Driving while under the influence of alcohol.
