OJJDP's State and Community Development Awards program was established to provide grants and cooperative agreements to organizations that OJJDP has selected for funds in prior years. This program has been authorized by an Act appropriating funds for the Department of Justice.
The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.
Missouri's Department of Public Safety will utilize the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws FY13 State and Community Development Division (SCDD) Invited Awards funds to continue the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) liaison program and provide training and technical assistance to law enforcement agencies across the State for the sole purpose of preventing and combating underage drinking. ATC proposes to coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and statewide partners to support the activities in the following five categories: retail compliance checks; bar patrols; party prevention and controlled party dispersal initiatives; special events management operations, and statewide training and technical assistance.
