Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $350,000)
Authorized by the Missing Children's Assistance Act of 1984, the Missing and Exploited Children (MEC) Program is the primary vehicle for building an infrastructure to support the national effort to prevent the abduction and exploitation of children. This program is authorized under Section 405 of Title IV of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended.
Under this award, Fox Valley Technical College will provide planning and logistical support to facilitate this training effort. The awardee will: implement a strategic plan for responding to a wide range of technical assistance requests; coordinate logistics and provide onsite meeting management support to OJJDP, including the annual Missing Children's Day activities; develop and maintain a uniform, systematic evaluation process that enables OJJDP to assess user satisfaction with services in terms of promptness, quality of technical assistance, and resources; develop, expand, and regularly update a MEC web site; and complete other projects as directed by OJJDP.
