Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $84,945)
This program intends to reduce risks and enhance protective factors to prevent at-risk youth from entering the juvenile justice systems and to intervene with first-time and non-serious offenders to keep them out of the juvenile justice system.
FY 2010 funding will be used to provide funding to one (1) Communities That Care (CTC) site, matched with state prevention funds, to assist with sustainability. Funding will support the planning and implementation of the CTC operating system through focused trainings and prevention programming. The ultimate goal of the CTC initiative is the reduction of adolescent problem behaviors such as violence, drug and alcohol use, teenage pregnancy, school drop-out, delinquency and the promotion of positive youth development.
