Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2010, $250,000)

The OJJDP FY 10 Earmarks Program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants, cooperative agreements, and other assistance authorized by the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended, to organizations identified in the Conference Report to accompany the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2010 (P.L. 111-117), H.R. Conf. Rep. No. 111-366 at 702-714.

The Childhelp Children's Center of East Tennessee (CCCET) will maintain and expand efficient investigational resources and mental health therapy to address the safety and emotional needs of abused and neglected children who are referred to the center. Funding will be used to expand the victim and family advocacy program, as well as mental health services in order to more fully serve the children and families dealing with abuse in Knox County. The CCCET will target a population of child victims of abuse, neglect, and trauma, ages 3-18, and their non-offending family members.
