Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $1,275,000)

Using OJJDP funds, The Fund for the City of New York along with the Center for Court Innovation will conduct a national study that will: 1) estimate the size and scope of the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC); (2) describe the characteristics and needs of CSEC victims; (3) explore available services; and (4) analyze prosecution outcomes for victims and exploiters. The populations of interest would include youth under 18 who are engaged in prostitution, child pornography, or related CSEC activities and those who are controlling or profiting from them.
