The goal of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Program is to support and enhance State efforts, in cooperation with local jurisdictions, to enforce laws prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors. For the purpose of the program, minors are defined as individuals under 21 years of age.

American Samoa intends to use the FY 2009 Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws Program grant to: 1) support the territory-wide interagency taskforce focused on preventing underage drinking; 2) implement a territory-wide media campaign aimed at educating the community about underage drinking; 3) implement innovative programs including retail compliance checks by youth; and 4) a responsible beverage server training for all staff working in establishments licensed to sell alcohol.
