Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $245,946)

This FY08 funding will be used to: 1) strengthen organizational capacity and core services of the North Dakota Children's Advocacy Centers to support sustainability and availability of CAC model delivery of services on a local, regional and statewide level; 2) provide access to training opportunities via teleconference and video conference to multidisciplinary and discipline focused skill training and expertise building opportunities for CAC staff and MDT members representing law enforcement, advocacy, medical, therapist, attorneys, CPS social workers and other working professionals with child abuse victims; and 3)collaborate with the Northern Plains Child Trauma Consortium and other key agencies to support a statewide network to provide trauma focused mental health services for child victims, training and peer support for therapists.
