Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $447,174)
Childhelp protects children from abuse and neglect by offering a universal system of early intervention, mobilizing a caring community in Northern Virginia, and offering community education about intervention and prevention programs. Specific activities to be addressed with this funding include extending the continuum of care through improved crisis intervention services, expanding the prevention program Good Touch/Bad Touch(GTBT), and reestablishing residential treatment services to Fairfax County. Childhelp seeks to provide 240 children (0-18) and their families with crisis intervention services and deliver GTBT to a minimum of 2500 children in Fairfax County and the surrounding region over an 18-month period. Childhelp also seeks to re-stablish residential treatment services in Fairfax County during the first 2 months of this project. Childhelp will track and evaluate the services provided to children and their families through a customized database developed by the National Children's Alliance, called NCAtrak. NCA/NCF
