Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $178,870)

The Quality of Life Center will provide programming to address challenges facing today's at-risk youth. Specific workshops and seminars will be offered to motivate caring adults and families to mentor and connect with youth in key areas such as: prevention of delinquency risk behaviors, addressing abuse and neglect, improving family functioning, reducing child victimization, accessing mental health and school assistance services, encouraging community involvement, reducing substance abuse, violence and behavioral issues, and stimulating professional growth and leadership development. Over 100 youth throughout California and other states will be targeted for services. Performance measures will include behavioral changes and recidivism rates of program participants. NCA/NCF
