Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $148,084)

Project Success will implement prevention and intervention programming for children from 7 urban schools (5 elementary, 2 middle) in Decatur and Macon County Georgia. The primary goals are 1) increase student academic achievement; 2) decrease truancy; 3) increase parent involvement in their children's education; and 4) increase collaboration among community stakeholders. The project activities include after-school tutoring, intergenerational senior volunteer program for elementary students, Right Track Truancy Reduction Program, Youth Court, service referral for families, family activities at school, parent involvement program (Supporting School Success), parenting classes, and after-school activities coordination (4-H, scouts, and school clubs).NCA/NCF
