Public Allies, Inc. will implement a youth leadership development program that engages diverse youth and young adults in a unique combination of nonprofit apprenticeships, leadership development training and coaching, and team-based community service. The program will recruit young people from low-income and marginalized backgrounds that reside in Connecticut and Illinois by encouraging them to pursue higher education, begin a career and become active citizens. The program will track the enrollment and successful completion of men of color between ages 18 and 21. Seventy-five percent of participating organizations serving at risk youth will report an increase in their capacity as a result of hosting an Ally. NCA/NCF
