The program will help teenage parents and their child with their physical, emotional and social needs so they can provide them with the cognitive skills necessary to create a safe environment for living. Parents will also be provided access to representatives from WIC and Medicaid. Children of teenage parents will be provided with age appropriate curriculum. The Teenage Parenting Center will also provide services that will allow the parent to remain in school so he or she can complete his or her high school education. The program will submit categorical assistance progress reports in GMS that will report on fourteen (14) performance measures including: the number of teenage parents that receive high-school diplomas, the number of repeat births to teenage parents enrolled in the program, documented improvement in parenting skills (such as properly bathing the child and correctly disciplining the child), and the child's score on vocabulary tests and the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale.
