Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $247,369)
The Proctor Hospital will implement gambling education for students ages 8 to 18 in Peoria, Illinois. In order to address the increasing problem of adolescent gambling, the hospital will utilize an interactive approach with CD-ROM's, lecture and discussion to make students, teachers, school administrators and parents aware of the harmful effects of gambling. The Proctor Hospital will measure the effectiveness of the gambling prevention education by the use of pre and post tests administered to the students. This performance measure will be reported to OJJDP in the categorical assistance progress reports.NCA/NCF
