This project will enable a collaborate of 40 member organizations in Sumter County, to support staff training, and technical assistance, in the area of early childhood education, particularly including training of personnel to implement the "Parents as Teachers (PAT)" program, "designed to enhance child development and school achievement through parent education." The stated ultimate goals of the collaborate are to promote better parenting, better school performance, and reduced high-risk behavior among children.
