Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2003, $248,375)
The Town of Bristol, will provide alternative activities for youth.The Town of Bristol will implement:1) OZ Café/ After School Program, this program will provide a coffee house setting for junior and senior high youth 6 days a week from 3:00pm to 9:00pm; 2) The Traveling Teens Program, this program will provide year round off site activities.3) The After School Computer Lab, at the Mt. Hope High School for high school youth.4) The Summer Fun Program,a eight week summer camp for children ages 6 to 14; 5) The Employment Shadowing Program, this program will match a child's career interest with a community business. The Town of Bristol will develop a collaborative relationship with the Police Department, Roger Williams University, Bristol/Warren School District and the Bristol Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force.
