The Center for Youth Development will expand the alternative education model for high risk youth by implementing its Diploma Plus initiative in Massachusetts. The program will target 900 youth at risk of becoming involved in the juvenile justice system and those returning to the community from juvenile detention. The program will provide technical assistance for communities that implement the Diploma Plus model. The outcomes expected from this project focus on improving basic learning skills, improving test scores on the MCAS exam and increase graduation rates for secondary students.
