Expand Program Services into Northern Region of Fourth Circuit Court District.

The Northern Hills Area CASA Program (NHCASA) serves the far western region of South Dakota. The Program's mission is "to recruit, train and supervise court-appointed community volunteers who advocate for safe, permanent, nurturing homes for abused and neglected children in the court system." In 2002 NHCASA volunteers worked with 98 abused and neglected children. Currently the NHCASA Program primarily covers Butte, Meade, and Lawrence counties. Under the current grant it is intended to provide NHCASA services to Corson, Dewey, Perkins, Harding, and Ziebach counties as well.
