Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $960,000)

Through the Enforcing the Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Discretionary Program: Community Trials Initiative, the Florida Office of Drug Control seeks to reduce the availability of alcoholic beverages to and the consumption of alcoholic beverages by underage persons (those younger than 21 years old). Through this grant funding, Florida will lead seven communities in developing plans to strategically link the delivery of science-based prevention services with coordinated enforcement initiatives. The community coalition and the enforcement authorities in these communities have indicated a sincere desire to reverse alcohol prevalence trends.
