Extend and Enhance the Evaluation of the Stay on Track Curriculum

This grant continuation will result in the extension and enhancement of the Race Against Drug's (RAD) Stay on Track curriculum evaluation consistent with RAD's Advisory Board and OJJDP's Research and Program Development Division. The evaluation, currently scheduled to include two experimental and two control schools with approximately 600 students in each group proposes to track a cohort of sixth grade participants through the three levels of Stay on Track (designed for implemenation in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades) and into their freshman year of high school. This evaluation project will supplement the current evaluation budget, allowing the project to complete the second year of implementation and evaluation. The supplement will allow for more thorough tracking of the cohort, allowing for a better understanding of the programs impact on its participants. The evaluation methodology has been reviewed by RAD's evaluation committee and approved by OJJDP's Research and Program Development Division. The current evaluation contractor will be retained, as they have been an integral part of the development of the approved methodology. This supplement will allow RAD to enhance the evaluation by exploring the use of technology in the data gathering process.
