The program seeks to encourage the community to enhance existing partnerships to address the needs of at-risk children of all ages, including delinquent youth. These partnerships must include public and private agencies; community-based organizations, such as religious, civic, and business groups; community residents; and youth. The program also places a strong premium on linkage to other ongoing Federal, State and Local efforts concerned with youth development, economic development and public safety. SafeFutures also seeks to build capacity at the local level to ensure long term substainability.
