Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $737,915)

The Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (Georgia ICAC Task Force) is operated and managed by the Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The purpose of the Georgia ICAC Task Force is to continue to investigate, prosecute and prevent crimes committed against children over the Internet. The Georgia ICAC Task Force currently has over 290 affiliate agencies with signed Memorandums of Understanding who are members of the task force. The Georgia ICAC Task Force will achieve goals and objectives by training new personnel, conducting investigations, performing digital forensics exams, prosecuting offenders, and working cooperatively with federal, state, and local colleagues. Additionally, the Georgia ICAC Task Force will continue developing and maintaining a sustainable internet safety education program to help inform children, parents, educators, and the community about staying safe when using the Internet. Grant funding will support overtime and associated fringe benefits for ICAC personnel and task force coordinator, training and related travel costs, supplies, ICAC vehicle, and Forensic equipment and software.
