Futures without Violence aims to provide Training & Technical Assistance to Project Sites to Increase Capacity to Implement Strategies to Support Children Exposed to Violence. The overall goal is to increase project site capacity and support the development of skills and strategies to address children’s exposure to violence. The project will strengthen and enhance the efforts of grantees to reduce children’s and youths’ experiences of and exposure to violence, lessen the impacts of such violence, and establish the conditions that children, youth, and their families and communities need to grow, heal, and thrive. Futures without Violence partners with the Tribal Law and Policy Institute to convene and lead a national Youth Advisory Board to support planning and execution of training and technical assistance, as well as to support sites directly on core youth leadership and family engagement strategies. Building on this foundation, Futures without Violence leverages its extensive experience and broad network of subject matter experts to engage and support diverse Collaborative Teams at each site and to facilitate on-going peer learning across sites. Through equity-driven human-centered design, asset framing, accountable relationships, and continuous quality improvement, Futures without Violence assists sites in engaging authentically with youth and families and achieving their goals. Specifically, Futures without Violence helps sites with developing strong, equitable, and sustainable partnerships and reducing or eliminating racial and gender disparities in juvenile justice and in responses to children's exposure to violence. They focus on enhancing capacity of sites to build protective factors, utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches; and take action to address and redress the multi-layered impacts of violence exposure on children and youth, their families, and communities.
