Prenger Family Center

The Prenger Family Center, a 30-year-old county-operated facility in Jefferson City, houses both dependency and delinquency youth primarily from Cole County, with occasional placements from across the state. The purpose of this project is to update the facility, enhancing its capacity to serve and accommodate youth residents more effectively. By addressing necessary equipment upgrades, including those for its 14-bed residential services and 6-bed juvenile detention center, the project aims to ensure the center is well-equipped to provide comprehensive care and local support to children who have been removed from their families. These improvements will enable the Prenger Family Center to continue its vital role in supporting adolescents in need within the Jefferson City community.
